It's Wimbledon in West London, the pinnacle event in the tennis championship calendar. For us here at the London Pianoforte Network, it has been less "New balls please!" and more "New keys please!" as we have had the exciting task of bringing a grand piano into Wimbledon, for the duration of the tournament. We have a number of grand pianos that we hire out on a regular basis, with or without a pianist and we were honoured to have been asked to supply Wimbledon.
Wimbledon simply wouldn't be Wimbledon without the iconic touches of British elegance that make it so - the strawberries and cream, champagne, impeccably manicured grounds and floral displays. Our stunning glossy black grand piano and classical pianoforte music fits the bill perfectly.
We had a fantastic team to get the piano into Wimbledon which went without a hitch and the piano was rebuilt piece by piece in situ, ready to entertain Wimbledon VIP guests - no mean feat! Seeing the final preparations for Wimbledon come together was a fascinating experience - flowers and rolls of carpet everywhere! And by the end, the place was transformed into a lush green oasis with a fabulous bar and deck and our beautiful Boston grand piano quite literally taking centre stage, with a stunning light fixture suspended above.
Tuned and ready to play, our Grand piano provided a beautiful musical backdrop for guests as they enjoyed their champagne and drank in the wonderful atmosphere. Portable Grand Pianos
If you would like to hire a grand piano for an event please get in touch. We also hire out baby grand piano shells. These are smaller, much more portable grand piano style shells which fit around a full size keyboard so you can have the look of a grand piano without the hassle! We hire them out with or without a pianist and they take just a minute or two to erect - perfect if you love the idea of hiring a grand piano but don't have the space or budget to do so.
